Annotation 

Parmi des poètes du “siècle d’argent”le poète Osip Mandelstam est moins connu du grand public. Sa famille  était originaire de Lituanie, mais a déménagé à Varsovie. A cette époque, la capitale polonaise faisait partie de l’empire russe.  C’est ici est né leur premier fils, Joseph, fierté des parents. La famille habitait rue Nalevka. À la fin du XIXe siècle, c’était la principale rue commerçante de Varsovie. C’est ici que le marchand Emil Mandelstam a ouvert son atelier de maroquinerie. Aujourd’hui, au milieu de cette rue, il y a un grand parc, mais le nom de la rue reste sur le plan de la ville. A la maison les parents parlaient  russe. Sa mère  avait même une bibliothèque en russe. À l’âge de 14 ans, le petit garçon a commencé à écrire ses premiers vers.

Warsaw Osip Mandelstam

The words of the famous poet Osip Mandelstam are less familiar to the wide public. His family Osip Mandelstam was from Lithuania, but moved to Warsaw. At that time the Polish capital was part of the Russian Empire. Here, in the town of Visla, their first son Yosif was born – the pride of the parents. The family lived in Nalevka street. At the end of the XIX (ninth) century, it was the main trading street of Warsaw. Here the merchant Emil Mandelstam opened the leather workshop on the production of peppers. Today, in the middle of that street, there is a large park, but the name of the street is preserved on the city map. House parents spoke Russian. His mother even had a library in the Russian language. At the age of 14, the little boy began to write his first verses.
